Sound familiar?

Does this sound like life with your dog?

  • Walks feel like a fight — pulling, lunging, scanning for triggers.
  • Guests at the door turn into chaos every single time.
  • Recall disappears the second something interesting moves.
  • Barking, jumping, counter surfing, ignoring you — daily.
  • Reactivity toward dogs or people makes outings stressful.
  • You've tried videos and tips, but nothing really sticks.

You love your dog — but life with your dog feels harder than it should.

What changes

A dog you can live with, in the places you actually go

Better walks

Loose-leash walking, less pulling, more focus, and a dog you can actually enjoy taking out.

Calmer home manners

Less chaos at the door, calmer greetings, more structure indoors, clearer expectations.

Practical reliability

Sit, down, place, recall, and everyday obedience that holds up when real life happens.

A calmer mindset

A steadier state of mind and stronger impulse control — so your dog can think before reacting.

Programs

Two ways to train — built around your goals

Immersive · 3–6 weeks

Board & Train

Immersive professional structure for manners, obedience and behavior work. Program length depends on your dog's age, history, behavior, sensitivity and your goals.

  • Behavior work alongside everyday obedience
  • Owner transfer coaching when your dog comes home
  • Post-program support

Pricing

3 weeks

Foundational obedience and minor problem solving.

$3,500
4 weeks

Stronger behavior work such as leash reactivity or resource guarding.

$4,500
5 weeks

Serious or entrenched behavior concerns with deeper real-world proofing.

$5,500
6 weeks

Serious or entrenched behavior concerns with deeper real-world proofing.

$6,500

Weekday · No overnight stay

Day Training

Professional training during the weekday without an overnight stay. Your dog trains with us during the day, then comes home with you at night.

  • Manners and everyday obedience
  • Leash skills and better walks
  • Real-life structure you keep practicing at home
  • A strong middle ground between DIY work and full immersion

Pricing

$125 per training day

10 training-day minimum — a starting investment of $1,250 ($125 per day).

Best suited for obedience, manners, walking skills, impulse control and mild behavior concerns — not serious aggression or severe anxiety.

The approach

Why The Good Dog Way

Clear communication

Your dog learns what you actually mean, so guessing stops on both ends of the leash.

Practical structure

Routines and boundaries that fit a real Arizona household, not just a training session.

Balanced, effective training

A balanced system built around fairness, clarity and your dog's wellbeing.

Individual recommendations

We recommend what fits your dog's age, history and sensitivity — not a one-size package.

Real-life proofing

Behavior is practiced around distractions so it holds up outside the training yard.

Owner coaching, always

Your dog isn't graduating into our life — they're returning to yours. We coach you through it.

  • No longer reactive
  • No more pulling
  • Practical, effective strategies
Sean, Marta and team opened up a whole new world for my golden and I. Walks, hiking, everything is better. I used to say to him, “if you behaved we could do a lot more cool things.” Now we are. Would recommend The Good Dog Way 100%. No longer reactive, no pulling on the leash, just the really good boy he is.
